French Belle Époque Toi et Moi Ring
An unusual French belle époque diamond and agate ‘toi et moi’ ring. The band is crafted in 18K rosy gold and overlaps itself at the front in typical ‘toi et moi’ style. The two principal stones are a banded ‘bull’s eye’ agate cabochon and a bright white 0.25ct old European cut diamond in a rub over setting. The choice of agate is rather unusual and makes this piece so intriguing. One side of the band is set with three small rose cut diamonds, whilst the other features a twisted rope motif. The ‘toi et moi’ (translating to you and me) design is one of the most historic ring setting styles symbolising love.

Agate measures 5mm x 5mm x 4mm. Rose cuts measure 1mm in diameter. In great overall condition, the banded agate has a surface chip but hardly noticeable (see photos).
