At the centre is a ruby, symbolising the Sun, surrounded by diamonds (Venus), pearls (Moon), red coral (Mars), hessonite (Rahu, the ascending lunar node), sapphires (Saturn), cat’s eye chrysoberyl (Ketu, the descending lunar node), yellow sapphire (Jupiter), and emerald (Mercury).
