Antique Gold Rabbit Family Crest Ring
A lovely gold family crest intaglio signet ring.
It was crafted in 21K gold and dates to the early 20th century. The squared bezel with rounded edges is engraved with a family crest depicting, using heraldry terms, ‘a rabbit sejant, resting the fore-legs on a cross patée fitché’. The ‘crest’ motif forms the uppermost part of a family coat of arms, and it was common to show the family crest alone on smaller pieces of jewellery.

The ring weighs 10.17 grams of solid 21K gold. The face measures 18mm x 12mm and the band measures 2mm across at the back. There is a set of faded hallmarks on the inside of the band.
