The ring features a deep blue sapphire weighing approximately 0.6 carats, bezel-set in an open-backed mount that seamlessly tapers toward the back. The sapphire measures 6mm x 5mm x 2.5mm and its intense royal blue hue complements the warm 14K gold band.
The ring’s design, with a D-shaped band that subtly protrudes outward like a horse’s stirrup, reflects classic Austro-Hungarian craftsmanship. Marked with the ‘fox head’ hallmark of Vienna, this piece was crafted between 1874 and 1922, showcasing the region’s fine attention to detail. The band measures 6.5mm across at the front, narrowing to 4mm at the back, and carries a good weight of 6.23 grams.
