French Empire Imperial Topaz Ring
A refined Napoleonic-era solitaire from France, circa 1810; crafted in 18K gold and set with a pinkish-orange imperial topaz in a closed, foil-backed rubover mount, exactly the construction you expect of the period
The slender round shank draws the eye to the softly glowing topaz; the foil enhances its warm fire so it harmonises beautifully with the rosy hue of the gold. Stamped with the French rooster-head guarantee mark for 18K; in use 1809–1819.
Lovely condition with an attractive antique patina.
