Victorian Rose Cut Diamond Necklace

This exquisite Victorian rose-cut diamond necklace dating from the 19th century is meticulously crafted in 14K yellow gold with a delicate silver overlay. Weighing a substantial 39.17 grams of gold, this is a real statement piece. The necklace is set with over 190 dazzling rose-cut diamonds, each set in closed-back, crimped collet silver mountings. They take the form of floral clusters, an arrangement beloved in Victorian jewellery for its romantic and natural appeal.

This necklace was designed to glisten magnificently in candlelight. All the diamonds are foil-backed, a period method of gem setting which enhances their brilliance. Rose-cut diamonds, with their triangular facets, were particularly prized in the Georgian and Victorian eras, as they reflected the flickering light more beautifully than any other diamond cut.
