Vintage Islamic Agate Intaglio Ring
Vintage Islamic silver ring set with an excellent bright green agate intaglio which dates to the early 20th century. The ring is stamped with a maker’s mark and hallmark for .840 silver. The green agate stone with sloped edges is adorned with decorative Nasta’līq calligraphy featuring stylised dots and flowers, typical of seals from the 19th - early 20th century (source: Islamic Rings & Gems - The Zucker Collection). The outer band is engraved with a cross pattern with notched edges and the underside of the ring displays an intricate floral cutwork pattern.
