Antique French Emerald Ring

Antique French Emerald Ring

A striking late 19th-century French cluster ring, circa 1890, crafted in solid 18K gold and set with a vivid step-cut emerald at its centre. The emerald displays exceptional clarity and a saturated green hue, likely of Colombian origin, weighing approximately 0.35cts.

Surrounding the central stone is a halo of old rose-cut diamonds, arranged in a navette-shaped bezel measuring 12 x 7 mm. Each diamond is individually set in yellow gold, creating a soft, glistening contrast to the vibrant emerald.

The split shoulders taper elegantly into a smooth band, currently a UK size J½ (US size 5). Though unmarked, the ring tests as 18K gold and weighs 2.8 grams.

Condition: Very good overall with all stones securely set. Some minor abrasions to the facet junctions of the emerald, commensurate with age.

This antique ring would make a wonderful alternative engagement ring—bold, refined, and rich in historical character.
