Antique Ruby and Diamond Bangle

A striking 19th century French bangle, crafted in solid 18K gold and set with a vibrant row of rubies framed by rose-cut diamonds. The gemstones are mounted in open-backed settings, allowing light to pass through and enhancing their brilliance—an uncommon and desirable feature in Victorian jewellery.

The bangle is set with 29 rubies, each measuring approximately 2 x 2.5 x 1 mm, displaying a vivid pinkish-red hue. These are bordered by two rows of antique rose-cut diamonds, each around 1.5 mm in diameter, their irregular faceting lending a gentle, candlelit sparkle.

The structure is elegantly curved, with softly tapering shoulders and a triple band. The interior is stamped with the French owl control mark, indicating a minimum gold fineness of 18K. The clasp is secure and the original safety chain remains intact.

It measures 6.3 cm by 5.2 cm internally and weighs an impressive 26 grams—substantial, yet comfortable to wear.
