This Edwardian era ring is set with a beautiful cushion cut 1ct cornflower blue synthetic sapphire in a gold collet setting. It is bordered by a halo of 10 round cut white sapphires in platinum settings. All of the stones are in open-backed settings which allows light to pass through the stones and enables easy cleaning of the ring. The low profile of ring, as well as the benefits of the open-back setting, would make this an excellent antique engagement ring. The shoulders are engraved with scrolled motifs which lead to a smooth shank.
The ring weighs 2.86 grams and is crafted in 14K gold. The cluster measures 13mm x 10mm. The inner band is stamped with a a variety of hallmarks indicating a slightly later mark for Austrian 14K gold, as well as a maker’s mark (SP or SR).
