Victorian Diamond Urn Memorial Ring
This antique memorial ring was made in the Netherlands, circa 1900.
The central motif depicts an urn with a spray of flowers, crafted in silver and set with rose cut diamonds. The urn rests on what appears to be a black basalt plaque in a collet set gold bezel surrounded by a silver beadwork frame. The ring is crafted in 14K gold, the shoulders decorated with a Rococo style shank and floral shoulders. Interestingly, the inside of the ring is also decoratively engraved and the underside of a bezel features a scrolled foliate motif.

The ring weighs 3.5 grams. The outer band is stamped with an old Dutch ‘oak leaf’ hallmark to indicate 14K gold. The bezel measures 15mm x 10mm. The central rose cut diamond measures 3mm x 2mm on its longest axes.
