Victorian Gold Pencil Bracelet

An unusual and ingenious Victorian gold bracelet for a writer on-the-go, incorporating a fully functional gold propelling pencil, circa 1880. The hinged bangle holds a slim cylindrical pencil that extends from 3.5 cm to 7 cm when in use, with a mechanism designed to hold graphite leads.

Crafted in warm, rosy-hued 9k gold, the bracelet weighs 10 grams and has an internal diameter of 5.7 x 4.8 cm, expanding when unhooked to allow for ease of wear. The propelling mechanical pencil is cleverly integrated into the bracelet design, serving both as a decorative element and as a practical writing instrument, a testament to the inventive spirit of 19th-century jewellery.

Graphite leads can still be easily sourced today, making the pencil theoretically usable as originally intended.
