This antique Victorian diamond five-stone half hoop gold ring dates to the late 19th century, circa 1895 and carries Dutch hallmarks. Five rose cut diamonds are horizontally aligned, all set in closed back rubover settings.
The diamonds are foil-backed to enhance their lustre by reflecting light back out through the stone, and the triangular facets of the rose cuts allow them to glisten more beautifully in candlelight.
The diamond set head adjoins to a lovely open gallery with arrowed motifs leading to a smooth and tapering D-shaped band.
The ring is crafted in 14K gold and weighs 3.14g. The rectangular head measures ring 16mm x 4mm, and the diamonds measure approx 3mm across each, with a total weight of 0.85cts. The inner band carries a Dutch oak leaf 585 hallmark to indicate 14K gold.
